Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and former chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her signature spiky blonde locks and her edgy personality on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, provides an easy and straightforward techniques for home cooks. Chef Burrell has worked and studied in the best New York restaurants. He was also a part of Iron Chef America and the food scene of Italy. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stage for her when she earned the Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a fantastic adventure. It was impossible to learn how to do, or even work hard enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell spent a year in Italy taking classes at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. It was during this time that her experience in Italy allowed her to comprehend and appreciate the Italian tradition and philosophy, and has made an impression on her perception of food. Burrell has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten children who are facing difficulties. She also serves as a Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation celebrity ambassador, where she advocates for juvenile diabetes awareness. She is a frequent guest to speak at conferences and tours across the nation as part of her mentorship role. Anne declared that she felt fortunate to be able to be able to share her passion for cooking with other people.
