In actuality, she was only able to take small roles in films prior to becoming an actress of the future in David Lynch's Mulholland Drive psychological thriller. She earned five Emmy Award nominations and four Golden Globe Award nominees. In 2002, she won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress.
