Pom Klementieff

Pom Klementieff was born 3 May 1986. She attended the Cours Florent drama academy in Paris. Her role includes Loup (2009) and Sleepless Night (2011). She is the Mantis character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (1999). Pom Klementieff was born in Quebec City, Canada, to her Korean mother and a French-Russian father who was employed as a consul in the French government. Eugene Klementieff, a painter was her grandpa. Since it sounds like the Korean words for "spring" or "tiger" her parents named their daughter Pom. Klementieff lived in Canada for one year. Her family had traveled extensively due to her father's job. They resided in Japan and the Ivory Coast, before settling in France. Her father, who passed away from cancer at age 5 was her mother. She was also suffering from schizophrenia , and could not care for her children. Klementieff was raised with her paternal uncle and aunt. Her uncle, who she described as "like [her] father" died at the age of age 18. The older brother of Klementieff who committed suicide years later, was her aunt. Klementieff briefly attended law school after her uncle's death to appease her aunt but didn't find the profession option appealing. She also worked as an waitress in France as well as a salesperson. Her first acting experience began when she was 19years old at the Cours Florent theatre school in Paris. After she completed her education she was selected for an acting competition that provided her with two years of tuition for free with some of the best teachers at the school. Klementieff was the stepdaughter of Catherine Deneuve in Apres lui (2006) which was her first role as an actor professionally. The filming took place over three days to capture her scenes. During one scene, Klementieff was supposed to push a person down a flight of stairs however, she fell her way down the stairs, as did director Gael Morel kept that shot for the final film. Loup (2009) was her first film leading role. It is a French movie about a group of Siberian mountain reindeer herders. During filming, Klementieff stayed in a camping area, which was hours away from the nearest village in which temperatures fell to well below freezing.
