Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was born to actresses Melissa D. Canaday, and Edward James Hyland in New York City. She began her career in the industry at age four by performing voice overs as well as commercial work. The first film she made was Private Parts (1997). Then she moved to The Object of My Affection (1998) and later spent time on Another World (1964) as "Rain Wolfe", a child found in the park and cared for by Josie and Gary. Sarah would go on to be a part of the team with Amy Carlson ("Josie" on AW) multiple times: Falcone (2000), Law & Order (1990) and Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was cast for the role of "Audrey Hepburn" in Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story (2001). The same year, she also selected to play "Molly" in ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999). Starring Kathy Bates, Audra Mcdonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chenoweth, Joe Gould's Secret (2000) as well as Falcone (2000). Sarah took classes in jazz, hip hop, tap, Theatre Dance and voice. She also performed in her Theatre and tap classes at "Reel to Real" in Lincoln Center as invited performers. Sarah was born in New York and raised in New York. As a child, she was home-schooled. mother, she attended a public schools from second grade onwards. She was accepted into PPAS in the 6th grade. The school was where she was until she graduated in 2008. Sarah who was 18, moved to Los Angeles, CA, after which she became as a pilot under the name "My American Family". The name was changed to Modern Family (2009, after Sarah was selected). To date, Sarah portrays "Haley Dunphy" who is the eldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) has been awarded numerous times, including the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.
